Travel to Cambridge
Cambridge is situated in the heart of the East of England, 60 miles north of London.
Excellent road and rail links ensure the city is accessible from all parts of the UK.
London is just over an hour away by train, www.nationalrail.co.uk).
London Stansted Airport (served by EasyJet and Ryanair) is 30 miles south of the city, with easy access by train, car or coach (National Express Coaches, which also serve Heathrow and Gatwick Airports, www.nationalexpress.com).
West Road Concert Hall is situated in the centre of Cambridge, approximately 10-15 minutes by taxi from the main railway station and the bus station (terminus for the airport coaches). Full directions can be found on www.visitcambridge.org and www.westroad.org.
Park & Ride Cambridge
Where possible we would encourage delegates to use public transport to travel to and from Cambridge. If this is not possible we recommend that delegates arriving by car use the following ‘Park & Ride’ facility.
Cambridgeshire County Council run a ‘Park & Ride’ service from Madingley Road (CB3 0EU), just off Junction 13 of the M11 to the West of Cambridge. Take the Universal/Route U bus (running every 10 mins between 0700 and 1930 on weekdays, and every 15 mins between 0830 and 1830 on Saturdays) and get off at the stop ‘West Road, University Library’, which is approximately 50 metres from West Road Concert Hall.
The car park has 930 spaces. It is free to park for the day (up to 18 hours), you just need to pay the bus fare, this is £3 return to the city centre and back. Tickets can be purchased at the machines in the car park using coins or a credit/debit card, or cash can be given to the driver.
You can park for up to 72 hours at the Madingley Road car park. You can pay in advance via the RingGo app, selecting the Madingley Road site or you can use your mobile phone using the specific code listed on the information board at the site of the car park.
